Technical-grade Permethrin 25:75 (CAS 52645-53-1) in bulk, supplied wholesale by Zyntex to registered formulators. Pyrethroid for public health, textile treatment, veterinary ectoparasiticides and human topical products. CoA and SDS.
Permethrin (C21H20Cl2O3) is a yellow-brown liquid or semi-solid that is practically insoluble in water. The common technical grade has a cis:trans isomer ratio of 25:75, and formulators process it into emulsifiable concentrates, suspension concentrates and wettable powders.
In addition, public health programs use it for treating mosquito nets and clothing, and for space and residual sprays. Similarly, veterinary producers use it in spot-on and spray products for dogs, horses and livestock, while pharmaceutical companies use it in creams and lotions against scabies and head lice. It often pairs with the synergist Piperonyl butoxide (PBO).
Notably, it is extremely toxic to cats and to aquatic life. In the EU, it remains approved as a biocide but not as a plant protection product. Related pyrethroids in our range also include Cypermethrin and D-Phenothrin.

What does 25:75 mean?
It is the ratio of cis to trans isomers in the technical product, which is the most common commercial grade.
Why must permethrin products for dogs never be used on cats?
Because cats cannot break down permethrin efficiently, even small amounts can poison them.
